Alex Jasper IS A UK based SONGWRITER whose SOUND weaves raw emotion with poetic storytelling.
Influenced by the storytelling of the Man In Black, the dark poetic edge of Nick Cave, the spirituality of The Doors, as well as the sound of the old blues masters such as Skip James and Howlin’ Wolf. Jasper creates music that feels vintage but alive.
Blending folk’s introspection with a darker blues roots driven edge, his songs are built on honest writing, smoky guitar lines, and a voice that carries both grit and raw passion. There’s atmosphere at the core, vintage in spirit, but electrifying in delivery.
A self-taught musician, Jasper has spent the past decade commanding stages across the UK and Europe, from iconic venues like The Troubadour and Hootananny Brixton to unforgettable festival appearances at Bath Festival, Camden Rocks, and the Edinburgh Fringe. His performances have also resonated in more intimate, electric settings, including live recordings for Sofar Sounds.
His songs have received repeated airplay on local and national radio stations including BBC Introducing, while he has also collaborated with Grammy-winning producers in Sweden and London behind the likes of T-Bone Burnett, Robert plant, Allison Kraus, Tom Jones, and Zucchero to name a few.
Blues-influenced. Folk-rooted. Electrifying live.
